Dereham Ladies 1sts –v- Lowestoft 6-12-08 Won 9-0

Dereham bounced back from defeat to emphatically win 9-0 against Lowestoft.

Kath Malvern opened the scoring after 4 ½ minutes with a deflected shot. Holly Allen scored the first of her hatrick following a short corner and Hannah Palmer made it 3-0 with a reverse stick shot.

Dereham totally dominated play and Lowestoft rarely ventured into the Dereham 16 yard area, and when they did the defence of Donna Causton, Chloe Hobson and goalkeeper Beth Maule meant that Dereham kept a clean sheet.

At 24 minutes Helen Malcolmson, playing at centre right, picked up a loose kick from the Lowestoft keeper and forced the ball in the back of the net, to score her first goal of the season. Just before half time Holly Allen scored her second from open play.

In the second half Holly Allen and Evie Van Poortvliet worked the ball up the pitch with some crisp passing and Evie Van Poortvliet made it 6-0. The seventh came from similar passing with short and crisp manoeuvres and Evie Van Poortvliet scored her second.

Lowestoft could not cope with Dereham and Louise Hewitt (Pinky) made it 8-0 with a reverse stick shot.

The third of Holly Allen’s hatrick was the best when she volleyed the ball passed the keeper.

Final score 9-0 with Eve Settle voted “man” of the match
